Checklist

Fireplace Inspection

  • Vacuum firebox and remove loose burner media
  • Replace ember material if necessary
  • Brush/whisk logs
  • Clean glass
  • Clean thermal generator with steel wool
  • Check that pilot remains lit
  • Remove blower housing and check function of fan
  • Check termination and vent system for drafting
  • Check line pressure and manifold pressure
  • Inspect integrity of glass door gasket for fit

Heating System

  • Check thermostat operation
  • Clean and adjust burner assembly
  • Inspect heat exchanger for corrosion or damage
  • Test safety controls
  • Clean ignition system and check flame signal
  • Check venting system
  • Clean and adjust blower components
  • Tighten and check electrical connections
